Kaldaun’s Beltane (aka Neila):  DOB - April 3, 2016

Sire:  Pitlochry’s Talented Mr. Ripley (aka Mister)

Dam:  Ch Pitlochry’s Olivia (NLD) (aka Livie)

Meet my beautiful Neila, who when alive gave everything of herself, to me, to her mother Livie and sister Arwen, but especially her daughter Ghostly.  She was gentle, yet also my huntress and explorer.  But most of all my ‘funny’ girl.  With a glance she would have me laughing at her antics.  When I picture my girl now it is as she apprears below, enjoying a romp in tall fields of grass.  We lost are beautiful girl from cancer (hemangiosarcoma) at only 5.5 years of age.  She gave me such beautiful puppies and her legacy lives on..... Thank you Heather Bashow for your beautiful photographs of my girl.

Amazed I have this one of Neila at approximtely 4 months, lol.  I not only take terrible photos, but usually they interrupt me.

Neila was not on the large size for a bitch, but she was very well built and had no trouble keeping up with the larger MacTire, lol.  I’m trailing them as usual, lol.

A bit of snow does not slow her down!

Running with her mum, Livie, nothing like it!

The girls have beards longer than poor MacTire, lol.

Neila in front follow by Arwen then Livie.

Rare photo of Neila to my left, Olcan to my right and MacTire behind me.  Often on my walks they surround me.  Always feel safe with them on duty! As a side note, Heather caught this with me not knowing.  I’ve gotten to love her rear facing photos!

Jumping ahead a year or so and my Neila is now a mother.  Not only was she beautiful in form and nature, she was a terrific mother.  Here she is with some of her puppies.  She didn’t begin to even want to wean them until the 7th week, lol. (Neila produced two beautiful litters and I kept a female here with me and her brother Kaldaun’s Samhain of Glenamadda  (aka Sammi) who I placed and co-own with Susan Prokopenko of Glenamadda Irish Wolfhounds.

Something special between a mother and her pup(s).....

Neila getting a hug.  You may not believe this but I do not set up these photos.  Puppies love cuddling with their mum this way!  I just have to find my cell phone to capture the moments, lol.

Love this photo of my Neila with her older sister Arwen.  Their closeness is obvious, but this photo caught a ‘moment’.  My Neila, my little mother, such a beautiful soul she had.  I have to thank Heather Bashow again, because she caught such beautiful moments like this with my dogs, I will never forget.

Oh my love, she is almost always in front.  On this day the lone ranger is my MacTire.  The girls are ranged behind me.  Ghostly to the far left, she is Neila’s daughter from her first litter and just a few months old when the Covid shut down happened.  Then we have Grandma Livie, Auntie Arwen and far right Momma Neila!

After two litters it can take some time to get one’s  lovely figure back! (lol) This was a lovely late fall run at their favourite place.  Heather’s place and as usual she caught some truly lovel photos of my wolfhounds and these precious one’s of Neila especially.  You may be wondering why I’ve no show photos of Neila.  The reason is simple, even when she took breed I no longer do the ‘breed’ photo, only group wins or their Championship photo.  But Neila only made it to where she needed the one point for her Championship and due to personal events in my life I got side tracked.  When I began to be able to deal with such matters Covid had come round and I was dealing with her daughter’s training/upbringing....then Neila’s illness.......  Neila’s page is really a tribute to her and gives  just a hint of her joy in life.  A truly ‘special’ girl.  Once again thanks to Heather Bashow of Deerhaven Photography, because of you I am very fortunate to have them.  The photo above and the one’s following are some of the last I have of my funny girl and introduce her daughter, Kaldaun’s Ghostly Memories, aka, Ghostly on her last romp with the pack.

These two photos are not in sequence, but I’ve kept them for the end of her personal story.  Above pictured with her mother and sister, together as they always were throughout their lives.  Below, one of my favourite rear facing photos of them at much younger ages.  Always in my heart and never forgotten.

I was wrong when I said Neila’s story had ended.  Yes for the purpose of this webpage it has but as these following photos show, her legacy lives on.  I’ll try to add in other photos of her pups at a later time.  Meanwhile meet Tiley her daugther as a young puppy at her new home!

A young Ripley photo with her owner, Glenn, getting cuddles!  Thank you Glenn and Kim for the wondreful home you have given her.

Another of  Ripley, with her new sister Pebbles, a mini Aussie!  Best Buds!

For now the last until I can organize the other photos for uploading, lol.  Meet another Neila daughter, Isla , from her first litter.  She is still very young here with one of her owners, Emily.  Thank you Ryan and Emily.  Another beautiful home for one of my Kaldaun puppies!

I have no doubt I will meet my dogs again someday.  But in the meantime I’ve the comfort of knowing pieces of them are still out there in their offspring.  One of whom I’ve shown only briefly, Neila’s Ghostly.  Her webpage will be up soon.  Until we meet again Neila, run free my lovely girl.
