Kaldaun’s Beltane (Call Name is Neila):  Date of Birth - April 3, 2016

Sire:  Pitlochry’s The Talented Mr. Ripley

                                                                   Dam: Cdn. Champion Pitlochry’s Olivia

Pedigree

Meet my Kaldaun’s Beltane, aka. Neila, my funny girl. What can I say about this beautifully made girl, except not only is she beautifully made, shhh, we won’t mention her overbite, lol, and a truly balanced Irish Wolfhound, she is a really powerful mover as many of the following photos will show.  She is gentle and loving.....and funny.  She reminds me of a young bitch, whose name was Ceana Keir, who I had when I was like so many just a ‘pet’ owner, lol.  My lovely Ceana Keir, who died from hemorraghing after spay surgery.  Much too young at just 14 months.  But Neila has come and reminds me so much of her, a true healing blessing, even with her overbite, which Ceana had as well and eventually grew out of, lol.

The pictures I’ve posted just below are Neila with her litter mates (she is far right, the light blue ribbon) having a nap.   The other picture is of her playing with her brother who I used to call ‘Bear’ and who her owner named “Beorn”.  They were great friends before he left and Bronwyn and Joe were kind enough to bring him back for a couple of play dates.  Thanks guys!

As a baby puppy my friend Kim McLaughlin once again showed one of my pups to the best baby puppy in breed and as you can she she and Neila certainly loved each other.  Thank you Kim for having the patience with her.

So because Neila’s overbite was taking time to correct I have not shown her much.  So the lucky girl gets to goof off.  These next photographs by Heather Bashow were taken in October of 2017 and she was out for a run with the rest of the pack.  No show grooming for these pictures!

Neila running with mom in second and Arwen in third.  She caught the other two flat pawed, lol.  Look closely and you will see she has no paws on the ground!  October of 2017.  Olivia has left her stamp on her girls for sure.

Mum says there is more to come, stay tuned! (October 2017)

I LOVE this photo of Neila’s head.  She is a beautiful girl with correct ear carriage and lovely dark brown eyes...which are not too large, in fact if she were more a white face she would look even more like her mum.  By the way, their coats have been coming in for winter so this is their winter look, the winter of 2017/2018!

Hey mum, wait up!

She loves to run...or should we say fly???

The girls and I.  It was a girls day out for a change.  Boys at home!

Love how Heather did a black and white!  Arwen keeping an eye on her upstart younger sister.  Meanwhile their mum totally ignores them, lol.

Neila, Arwen and Olivia.  The three girls are very close, which is super important when keeping several wolfhounds in a pack situation and not a kennel.  They live and play together and actually rarely squabble, definitely better than many humans, (lol)!

And so the saga will continue...Neila’s bite has improved and if it continues she will be bred once and once only to a male of good bloodlines with no bite issues and I will have a daughter of hers to carry on that power and grace that she continues to display.  She has been shown and does have some points towards her Championship, so some judges do go by the ‘whole’ dog/bitch.  We will see...meanwhile she continues to get to ‘goof off’ (lol).
